    Film 34: Godley River Tahr

I went for a quick hunt up the Godley to shoot a meat animal. Made a film. Happy New Year everyone.

    Enjoyable, thank you.

How did you like our little hut? Much nicer with the LED lights in it now..

It's much better! I hadn't been there in 7 years or so, need to get hold of someone to pay - had forgotten it's a NZDA owned hut.

I liked the bit where you turned the middle of your wheels back for daylight saving.

I can PM you the branch bank details at some stage.

Did you pop in to Eade Hut while you were across the river?
We did much the same work over there back in February. Toilet, new paintjob, solar lights, general maintenance. Only catch, as we found when we got all the way up to Eade, the solar controller we were given only activates the lights about 30 mins after dusk. Getting a little dark inside by that point..

Huts and Tracks fund has been a huge benefit to our backcountry these last couple years.

Not *all* the way to the top! They're only hanging around about halfway up at the moment.

    Yeah that'd be good, cheers.

Yup had a look in there and stopped for lunch, really nice little hut. Doesn't seem to see a lot of use, I guess because it's hard to get a truck across there. Wasn't game to take the Landcruiser through the main channel of the Godley, myself...
