Fucked up today!
Was just riding the bike to the parking spot when through the trees i spied a white buck of a decent size so i came to a rolling stop and managed to get the scope cover off the gun and gun loaded whilst it looked at me.
Cross hairs on the shoulder i take a second look at the head to make sure hes the one i want and thats all the time he needed, like Superman he was gone in a single bound leaving me to sit and watch his white arse disappear into the sunset.
Mental note: If i know it is a good buck the first time i look then for christ sake, just pull the trigger!
I shake my head!

Nothing wrong with identifying your target :)
beats shooting it and thinking afterwards " I should have left it"
-
He will still be there some where mate. gives you a good excuse to head back out!!
-
A good post! Could have been a bad one, good decision making:thumbsup:
-
As others have said. Good move. Now go back and find him
-
Bit do a bugger Mal but there for another day.
-
Wouldn't have been very sporting to shoot him from the bike anyways, probably a blessing in disguise.
-
Good one mate, be proud of your decision, plenty of others wish they took the extra time.

Meat hunting once and seen a hind of good size so I started stalking towards her there was a bit of tight bush to get thru which I did quietly, got to the other side looked down at my rifle to check safty's on and bolt closed looked up at the hind bounding away from me:angry:That's hunting bro but you know that:)
-
Yeah man thats hunting. All i could say was F F F F F F and then go try find him. I know where he is living right now at least.
-
No shame in taking two looks and not getting it - times I spook an animal and watch it disappear off into the distance I try to remind myself that I'm in the right place to be
Still hurts tho

Unlucky MH, as you say at least you know where he is.....
