Garden Gully buck
Been pretty busy with work so happy to have a couple of days to chase fallow in the Blue mountains.
Monday pretty windy and despite covering a good amount of ground only spotte d 1 doe and just glimpsed a black flash in a huge pil e of crap.
Day 2 and weather much better if a bit warm for this time of year. Gentle breeze which me and the dog stalked into, again covering a decent amount of ground. We were headed to an area we knew held bucks and just on 12 we stalked onto a nice open ridge. Dog indicating strongly so just a matter of stalking slowly and trying to spot the deer. The whole deal made much easie r as the buck trotted up to 15m away and as I needed the meat deer down and Max got to play scruff with a buck

Couple of hours with a decent load on and ready for a beer and dog enjoyed a wee swim to cool off

Was wondering how you were getting on this year. Thanks for posting. See anything better shot this year?
-
Actually not many rumours this year of any big bucks shot, might know a bit more after measuring night at Deerstalkers and then again maybe not. Had a chat with Ray and he had not heard of anything decent coming out so far.
Anzac weekend was hard with lots of wind and not much shot.
Ron tipped over a nice 18 pt buck around 185sh the week before.
Still possible to get a decent buck, I will try and get out again in a couple of weeks
Cheers

Nice. Where did your dog come from Dino?

Hi Tahr
Breeder Matthew Davison. I can't remember where he was based, Canterbury somewhere, Stug will maybe remember as I got her from him when she was 18 months old.
