Good read
Yesterday I bought a book at a market called Wildlife Ranger. My years in the NZ outdoors, by Ken Francis. Have spent most of the weekend reading it. He was NZs first wildlife officer. Help set up the first deer culling in the SI and ureweras
Gives a good insight into those hard days before and thru the depression. Well worth a read!

Yep it's a good read alright. My great uncle's father was Ken Francis' partner (Powell). When I was a young fella I remember the yarns of him in trapping possums when they were protected and his old man warning him that he and Ken were planning an op to catch the possum poachers so he would gas it out to town for a few days until they had finished trying to find him. Great stuff.
