That is a granddad’s prerogative surely? Age has to have some benefits.

Well done Thar. Enjoyed the read.

Great idea donating to the soup kitchen bc. Good on yer :thumbsup:
Nice read as usual mate, times to treasure.
Nice looking country and a lovely platform and spot for the hut.
Big day on the hut yesterday...and @Brian collected some venison.

Excellent read, thanks for that. Hope the soup kitchen recognise what a good bloke you are.
How big is the farm you're hunting on? How far is the hut from nearest neighbours? I predict a lot of deep thought and steak in that huts future!
That set of yards with the lambs looks pretty exposed. When I was a kid I spent time working with sheep in the yards with the wind trying to rip the coat from my back, a line of trees later and it's a different working environment altogether.
@Ben Waimata Couple of thousand acres. One boundary is on the top of the bush about a KM away from the front of the hut. A Forestry boundary about the same distance away to the Sou West. A few KM to boundary in other direction to the east.
Keep that wire hot goin when youre not there. Bloody cow shit right up to the front door can get a bit messy
primo- he's a lucky fella for sure!
Awesome reading. I always enjoy your reports @Tahr
@Mathias Still to come - want the cocky there because he's been very supportive. Doing the verandah and paint job next week.
The 2 deer Brian shot are for a forum member who has been very helpful to us fixing torches and stuff.
Great read, what a treat for all parties involved! Amazing spot, when the huts done it will be paradise even more
