For those interested in the history that abounds on those and similar age maps, the Govt funded website ' Mapspast' is great. Just about all maps produced over the last 100 years are on that website in digital form.

A lot of detail (rabbit fences, hut sites, tracks, old road alignments (the old SH1 across the desert road for instance) all reside on those old maps, and have not been brought forward on newer versions.

That site is a ripper. Found heaps of old blaze tracks that way
