    Last chance pheasant....

    Last chance pheasant....
Had been trying to get out with @johnd to chase a few roosters for sometime, finally got the chance on the last day of the season.
We were joined my 13 yr old son Eli, who was hoping of bag his first pheasant and John's Brittany Spaniel.
Had only walked 1 minute down the first hedge line when John claimed the first bird with his 20g.
Further along same hedge and it was Eli's turn to down his first pheasant!! One pleased lad (and just quietly, one very pleased Dad)
Here is the bigger of the 2 birds.....

Eli is looking forward to next season already!
Will get out to find some properties to shoot on John....need to keep that dog busy!
    Cheers Dave

He's going to be deadly, I watched him take his first bird, up bang, one movement. Good that it was a straight away shot for him, but good clean one shot kill all the same. Nice to have those fast reaction times too!
Good on you Ely, it was a pleasure to shoot with you.
Dave has done a top effort raising that young man.

Agree with you on the 'joins', and it looks like the one on the bottom wire has given up, but at least someone has found a use for Barbary Hedges. That lad looks as proud as Dundees Labrador on retrieve, just need to get him supporting a better rugby team now
