That was one heck of a hunt you captured it well in the photos. I imagine you couldn’t be happier with the result. Taking on a hunt like this is a step into the unknown and some people come away burned badly, it is good to see there are good outfitters out there. My hunt for moose was a horseback one and I to suffered the saddle soreness but it was well worth it and I to had a great outfitter. Thanks for shearing your adventure.

Seeing a snow leopard in the wild would make my trip just by itself.

tip next time looking at your photo you need to extend your stirrups and come forward more in the saddle - that way you will sit up straighter - you are riding on your bum you should be riding on your big inner leg muscles - straight line from your shoulders down thru your torso to your heels - riding with such short stirrups you will get a sore butt from constantly screwing around in the saddle and leg cramps - try longer stirrups and sit up straighter next time try it - I have noticed with photos of mongolian and asian riders they do use very short stirrups -my old boss a dressage rider would have told me to get off and stop abusing the horse

Yeah I had just jumped on my guides horse for a photo as he was carrying the head

As you say, they are short fullas, my stirrups were much longer. I’ve done a bit of horse riding, just not for 10 years

ahhh advice not needed then - have seen photos of overseas hunters in those places and they seem to give them saddles with damn short stirrups - as an aside the horse stew Davy Hughs once told me that on a hunt in Mongolia the guides tried to serve him wolfs head stew
