Looks like with a bit of work you could hang a whole yearling in it?
What does the temp get down to?

Good work KJ, up close and personal in the bush is hard to beat - Last couple of years ive started doing some open country/tops type hunting, but getting them in the bush i still find far more rewarding/exciting.
Good stuff,those blow flys find them quick.
Yeah they sure do. The blowies were fortunately very far and few between due to the colder weather. The Kawekas in Summer can feel like you're on the set of Apocalypse Now where all the choppers come flying in for all the bastard things. In fact, @Ginga was chased by a ravenous swarm of kamikaze blowies from one side of the main range to the other once.
Good work Special Jimmy. Sell your long range blaaaazzer barrel and go bush! Yep the flies.....still having nightmares!
@kiwijames and @Ginga
You'll soon come to learn Blow Flies are your friend.
They can find a downed deer faster than any dog I've ever seen.
Just sit quietly, listen then follow the buzz especially in the summer. :thumbsup:
Only downside is once you've found your quarry it's almost impossible to call them off. :oh noes:
I love winter bush hunting.
Cheers
Pete
Great result KJ, i would be chuffed with just:thumbsup: one deer!!!!!!
