Anyone bagged a peacock with a .223? 75 yards would be an easy shot with the ol "eyeball gun"
Glad I didn't take the shot as a fallow spiker became dinner shortly afterwards
Young bull through the binos
Just came across this interesting piece:
https://www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3607...-hunting-death
The additional charge relates to video taken through/by his scope... demonstrating a cavalier attitude towards firearm safety.
Keep it safe!
Maybe I missed it but was it videos of people or buildings or just videos of deer?
It didn't specify, but I'm assuming it was pointing in an unsafe direction, with people or property visible. It's just a good reminder to not be a knob
I think that Bol is making the point that whilst we're all waving our guns around trying to line phone and scope up to take a picture that we're all mindful of what's in our firing zone/backstop as even inadvertently pointing our gun at someone or something that MAY have people in it (such as a hut) is A: Indicative of poor gun control and B could be deemed reckless.....with potential consequences. I don't think he's having a pop at anyone and yep if you're right out in the back country it's unlikely but....a reminder to be aware of the golden rules never hurt anyone....excepting if they have a fragile ego![]()
expect nothing, appreciate everything - and there's ALWAYS something to appreciate
Yep, I'm not taking a stab at anyone - just want to remind people that this is a public space, and I hate an own goal (as in handing proverbial ammunition to the anti's on a silver plate) more than most things.
I have always found it is easer to get a photo with a nice camera then get a scope sight overlay and edit it up in photoshop![]()

Flappy Disc Customs Bespoke Hunting Rifles
Remember a few years ago when agro hunter used his scoped rifle to attempt to get Helicopter rego numbers, was told "admitting to using your rifle to obtain ID could place you in a predicament also"
