    The Rata was in FULL flower all the way down the Highway to Jackson's Xmas/New Year too
    There were dead coons on the road - # prob low but !!
    Do they only Flower every occasional year ??

    Awesome!! Fascinating country

    Flowering has a lot to do with weather conditions. "They" say when the rata flowers well we're in for a dry summer - which has been the case on the coast (bar a couple big recent rains) and certainly in Southland (driest year/summer ever recorded).
    I'm drawn to the mountains and the bush, it's where life is clear, where the world makes the most sense.
