Addendum: When Kai went on a sit and we were waiting for the stag to come into view. He came off the sit, started to wind and want to head around to the right of the gully, so had to put him on a firm sit. Must have been other animals there at the time. After going to the point of impact, there were tracks of other animals. The following week going past this point, we started tracking the hind and yearling. A bit of a feed belt tucked in full view of the winter morning sun. Perfect.
I clicked yesterday.... the stag kinda glided through the open gap a lot quicker, head down, looking like he was heading off some other animals. Hence the quicker than anticipated required shot. Funny how all the thoughts rattling around the brain come together. No wonder he was going a lot quicker. Still had him dead to rights. Going back...
