    Rangi hut

Quick walk in the Ruhaines today with a couple of forum members.

Snow was icing the balls at the top ND think we crawled a solid 150y as the snow was too deep.

Should have taken your skis. That was why they put the Rangi hut there in the first place.

We were after snow but we didn't think it was going to be that extreme haha.....we all had to take turns at the front as every few steps the frontman would end up waist deep in the snow. The two guys following just walked in his footsteps - easy peasy!

@199p - you didn't even post a photo to show that we made it. The last hundred metres took us longer than the first few kilometres eh. Crawling isn't fun!

See the rescue chopper was in there today.
A loopy fell out of the bunk and hurt her shoulder.
Luckily my pager didn't go off

Last time I was in there was with the family. My 10 year old fell off the bunk and bashed his nose up. Poor little guy as there was not much we could do for him up there.

Good effort to get through all that snow.

Unfortunately after a couple of close encounters I find I have become highly allergic to snow ........... That or I'm far too wussy these days.

Even the deer probably saw sense and moved on down the hill.

    Nice pics.

    Cheers
