    Easy as @Zedrex. Line up compass arrow from shot to target and turn dial until north end of needle lines up with N on dial (0 degrees) when over at where animal was point compass back and Line up needle with 180 degrees. If it points left of shooting position move to your right. Right of shooting position move to your left.

    I do the same,walk direction say 50yds + if possible with phone in hand and I know the range.Drag way point to ranged distance and go look.Very good in the dark with thermal hand held in hand.

    If your GPS collaboration is done the sight and go function used to put me within 5 m at 600 yards that was with my Garmin alpha dog tracking GPS.
