Spent abit of time in the ruahines the past month. Smacking a few deer over. Even got the missus her first deer! 10km into the bush, she even let me carry it all the way back to the car! isnt she lovely ahaha. Shes caught the bug now, think I need to buy a new rifle hahaha cheers team. Shot this fat stag this past weekend was bloody good weekend and heavy pack out.

Good to see the success rate going up, also getting your missus her first is a bonus, watch out though she may out shoot you.

see bro...you dont need a long range bootheshitoutofyashouldermeatwrecking magnum....you doing just fine n dandy with the smokepole youve got,50 quid to a knob of goat shit if you did change over, most of your animals would still be shot at sub 300 yards and you would live to regret the change.
enjoy the venison....make sure you cook it right for that fine young lady too.

try out someone elses then bro.....your pocket will thankyou for it LOL.
its like babies bro...you get to hand them back....
Im a bush hobbit at heart ,used a poohseventy for 20 something years for everything, tried the x39mm BHSR thing...lovely to carry, killed ok but the day was coming a 300 yard deer would have to be left.its gone to a good home.
got a .308 thats longer and heavier than the poohseventy as my bush rifle now....oh and sometimes the humble 223 goes for a walk...they all kill deer just as good when I do my bit. 350 yards is a long shot for me,in the last few years Ive taken 3 deer out at around that range.....wouldnt want to stretch barrel any further even if I could....up close n personal is just so much more my thing.
