Shooting the breeze in Ohakune, caution contains F&C's
I woke up Saturday morning at Andys place in Taihape to the sound of wind chimes clanging during intermittent wind gusts & walk into the lounge to see on the TV news that "The weather bomb" had hit :P
Fuck a little wind'n'rain ain't guna stop us so we load up & prepare to head off, walking out side to the sounds of straining tree limbs & a bloody gust of wind blows my Oakley's off my hat 10yards and face plants em onto the road :oh noes: not a good start but off we go to Kune
We get there & meet up with nztezer and his mate at the farm house HQ more fullas turn up Striker, Andys mate Ivan & his wife Sue with Snowman in tow & Mossie so we sit around the lounge & get the fire crankin while the rain keep fallin
then the gun cases & binos come out with some nice rigs & pieces of kit, everyone has a fondle  & we do a tally on work out theres about 100k worth of rigs sitting in the corner :P
With the weather is not clearing & the rain radar not looking to flash we decide to cancel any thought about shooting & crack open a beer & bomb back some stubbies after a couple of hours there is a slight break in the rain we hope in the wagons & go for a drive to set up some targets ready for Sunday morning
The rest of the night was spent by the fire eating'n'drinking & spinning bullshit :yaeh am not durnk:
Sunday morning & the weather was not to bad, until after brekfast when the showers return, Arh fuck it lets go out for a look anyway & hopefully it will clear
we then proceed in a convoy to the shooting mound & Andy decides to take us on the scenic route, with after 3" of rain was lets just call it "greasy" :ORLY:
Nother the mighty Sube couldn't handle ( who needs a 4x4 ute ) by the time we get there the rain had cleared & with the wind gusting between 5-25mph coming from left-right we get sorted & start bombing at 2 sets of 6" & 10" square gongs @ 470y & 675y (approx can't remember exactly ) the wind was making it bloody hard work at even 470y with the wind being so intermittent, Mossie had his Remmy running sweet & soon everyone had their eye in, some were even using my "tacticoool shooting pillow" :D
after a while Andy & Mossie tidy the plates up & head out to put a round 15" gong at 1020y with everyone got onto after a bit of "guessimating" how mush windage was required & at the end of the shoot 5 of us had a go with Andy's 338 TRG & all hit the 1020 with one shot
We are packed up by 1:30-2pm & have a leisurely drive through the mud ( go the mighty Sube again, I thought I was fuck but nothing a bit of flat to the floor horsepower couldn't fix  ) back to HQ before heading home
Thanks again Andy, can't wait for the next one
Heres a couple of pics Im sure someone will have some more/better ones
What a premo spot for shooting, looks like Terry is showing everyone his flash invisible shooter
