Wallowing Stag - Raw video

The stag that I shot recently came charging across a face and headed to a wallow, where it spent quite some time before I shot it at 230 yards with my 7mm RM. I videoed the entire thing and thought some of you might be interested. He's a old stag that didn't appear to be holding hinds and was probably past his best; none the less he has a real character head that I'll glance at from time to time to remind me of the 2022 roar - which has been full of action.

That is so cool! Nice video. Sometimes I wonder if the deer get cold when they bathe in the mud during cold weather. How did you take the video? Is the camera on a stand?

Thanks Jessica. Yes the camera sits on top of a tripod, most cameras really shake at zoom and when people fire a shot, if they’re not on a tripod.

No. Never stop hunting. 'Cos then I wouldn't be able say to my wife "Well, Craig goes hunting more than me" :)

That was a good wet morning watch, gets me envious and wishing i lived a bit further south.
