    Winter Wallaby

Three of us shot 78. Some heavy snow last week made it a bit difficult and affected our tally. Shot a couple of deer too and we saw a couple of Chamois.

My longest shots with the .223 were 421 and 412 yards. The closest 5 yards.

    Awesome, sounds like great fun.

I need to have a crack at those little buggers at some stage.

Some spear grass was eaten down too.
Plenty of rabbits there to help them.

Looks like it was a bit fresh in a couple of places... stunning countryside though. Thanks for posting those photos.

Great effort with the .223... that's a fair ol distance.

@outdoorlad Duct tape special. It limits being able to strip the DPT - but its something I never do anyway.

Pigs will evidently root the stuff up for bugs a pond the roots I've been told. They must breed tough pigs down south

The pigs in Marlborough seem to be the best at killing spear grass.

Loved it! Nice contrast between the snowy/dry hill.
What sort of bullet do you use in your 223?

@Norway 69 grn Targex (NZ made - Berger jacket/hollow point). 3K fps from 20' barrel. Model 7 rem. They perform very well.

(for bulk ammo in a Savage Lightweight I use 56 grn factory Geco ammo that has a red poly tip and that is very good too at a good price. Accurate and flattens them).
