    Winter Wet

Wet night tonight. Not very pleasant for hunting.

Took the dog an age to find this. Had fallen down a water fall, and then I had to drag it down to a flat spot in the creek to deal with it. 300saum.

Good on you @Tahr for getting out there. Hard yards in weather like that.

Tilly......tell the old fart to shoot it dead next time....if you wanted to get that wet tell him to take up duckshooting and buy you a neopreme coat. you did good to find it lass, real good. hope the old fart gave you a good rub down with a towel and let you sleep by the fire all night...

She doesn't seem to get cold, but I seem to be feeling the cold more with each successive winter.

It was quite a clean shot but the deer was on a steep slope and disappeared as it rolled through the trees. It was a shitty creek. Tilly knew it was somewhere and was winding but just couldn't zero onto it because it was in a very steep gutter. She got onto it when I crossed the creek and climbed a bit and she must have got a good whiff of it. She has slept all day

good to hear it Mate..... water can be a right mongrel on the scenting abilities.... Meg sheds water like no dog weve ever seen...she can go for a swim (cant keep her out of lake) and 5 mins later is dry again. the poor old GspXs we had previously hated the cold and shivered like mad at times.

Home tonight at midnight from a hunt. At least it wasn't raining.

Shot this bloke and rolled him a hundred yards down out of the scrub to deal with him. Saved me 100 yards of carry out. 270wsm & 127 grn LRX, 250 yards high shoulder shot & flattened it.
