As others have pointed out, the powered compressors are really only needed on large car tyres, and SUV tyres in particular. Bicycle, trail bike, quad and side x side tyres are easily serviced with a quality hand pump. Those cheap foot pumps are, well, cheap. Go to Torpedo7 and pick up a decent sized quality hand pump. In almost all cases you will be pumping for a minute or less. Less time than you will need to go find the air compressor, move a vehicle close enough for the lead to reach, lift the bonnet and connect up!
The longest time I have had to use a hand pump was 15 minutes, but that was on a 285/75R16 on my Landy that had picked up a frick'n MTB axle retention pin. Had to remove tyre off truck, demount tyre, fix with mushroom patch, remount and inflate. All doable with a quality hand pump![]()
