The 2.7 desiel in the Ford Territory

Any one got any info on these, are they ok

I'll say 'tis only once DONT buy a territory! Mates got one and keeping it on the road cost wise is stupid! Just a had the rubber mounts on the diff done $1200, electrics have been a problem, front brakes andvABS! The list goes on! And I'm a Ford man!!

His is a Turbo 4.0 litre, goes like the clappers from one petrol station to the next. A brand new or close to new might be better but do your research, it's been a costly experience for him

We had a petrol one, hard on fuel but otherwise we had no problems. Have now got the diesel one, I find it bloody good, heaps of grunt and handles well, much nicer than the ranger. AWD seems to burn through the tires thou. Coming up 60,000 km

I'm a ford guy the turdatory is the next step up from the exploder so at least a step in the right direction if that's what your after

Aussie forums seem to be hard on them below 2013 and hard on the response for ford Australia regarding, mainly gearbox problems
mentioned also it the fuel that the 4ltr uses.
still looking for that "Other vehicle"
Might look at Highlanders next then but I hear the 3.4 can b tough on fuel as well
can't have everything though I suppose.

Dad has had a 2016 model Mitsubishi outlander vrx for a about two years now as a company vehicle (gets em early through his job). And if I compare it to the territories ive driven/rode in, it's much much more comfortable to drive. Awesome four wheel drive system too. And no issues so far. His previous company vehicle, a holden Captiva, was a completely different story. Endless problems and not a nice car to drive. This was from New too, rest of the people in the company also had problems with their Captivas, so stay away from those :thumbsup:

Vrx is I think their top of the line model tho (before the hybrid) so a bit pricey. But various cheaper options available, and if they are anything like the vrx, I Rate it!

Man, Terribletorys are rubbish. We did 3 racks in various models in a month not long ago. I mean, wtf, racks leak, they develop play etc. Only ford have three different (2 x hydraulic, 1 electric) racks just break. '04 had the mount plain snap off, late model electric version simply split the casing lengthways, other one just got stuck. Literally just broke something off inside and jammed solid.

All sorts of other problems. Electrics, rust, suspension bushings in the back, ball joints saying goodbye with little warning, you name it. Junk. No way in hell I'd have cash in one hahahaha

we had the mitsishiti outlander and would actually buy another one .
it was pretty good on jetrel drove well and had zilch problems.
I never thought I would be saying this.
good 4wd when needed and even got to like the transmission.
ours was the 4 cylinder petrol.
reasonable price to buy as well.
nothing really bad to say at all.
the very back seats in the seven seater were for midgets though!

A mate has the 2.7 ford he is a sales so does a lot of km and has had no trouble at all. Nice to ride in as well.
