2014 Hilux bleeding the Brakes ?

Yes I've tried the search function.

    Ute has ABS & VSC.
Replaced all brake pads/shoes & rear wheel cylinders. Roughly adjusted rear brakes.

    First bleed used oneman kit.
Brakes hard , started motor & pedal went to floor.
Went round a few times & similar results.

Last attempt key on & wife played pump the pedal.
It's better but still not ideal.
    Have kept m/c topped up.

Apart from adjusting the rear brakes properly , any suggestions ?
Or do I need a scan tool ?

    Thanks
