24 month diesel SUV storage

Hi guys, I am planning on a 3rd OE but don’t want to sell my 4x4 so am thinking of storing it whilst I am away.

Any suggestions on what I should do re the diesel and other fluids, should I drain the oil and diesel tank, bleed brakes etc?

What about pre start checks and actions when I get back? Clearly if I have drained the oil I’d want to replace that but anything else?

Is it worth putting it on axle stands to take the weight off the suspension and tires?

Would it be better to leave it with someone who can run it once a month or so?

The only thing I would be concerned about is the fuel, add a fuel stabiliser that inhibits diesel bug fill it up drive it home and park it up.
oil and filter/fuel filter change when you get back.
Also your battery will die if not on a maintenance charger.

Don’t forget to put reg on hold.

Don't know about diesels but I believe it's a good idea to change the oil and run it up as in petrol engines i was of the understanding that gas bypassing the rings can turn the oil acidic and when sitting can attack the main and big end bearings!? I have also successfully flushed the brake and clutch fluid in a monaro with hydraulic fluid that sat for 5yrs. Changed for brake/clutch fluid when i got home and never had any leaking issues etc.

leave it on axle stands to protect the tyres, unless they are already near replacement time.

Put plenty of Rat Poison in the Cab,under the bonnet etc.
Before you start it again,check all your fluid levels,gearbox,transfer case,diffs,engine,radiator,brake fluid.I have had brake cylinder seals pop the first time I have used the wagon after a couple of years,the same with the master cylinder. The seals fuse to the barrel of the cylinder and the first time they move,they break.

I have been parking up my landy for two year periods for the last decade without any major hassles.
Toyotor engine and gearbox though.
