Finally back to the Austin Healey, engine out, fabricate a new Alloy transition plate between the engine and the gearbox, new clutch, pressure plate, carbon thrust, and slave cylinder. Got a Sebring fast back for the top! My son and I preserved this car 20 yrs ago, it has a nice patina to it now and we are leaving it like that. Sills , door pillars and all rust was removed back then, still all good. Then it's out of my garage and into his, yes!!:cool:fAttachment 52064

I used to have a bug-eye many moons ago, purchased as a stripped out race car with a shorrock super charger, put it back to a road car went like stink for the 1970s but ate gear boxes.

Engine extraction today me hopes, hard work gettin a clutch plate, pressure plate and carbon thrust bearing, will reassess once out, have to fix some @Happy leaks!
Don't worry about the leaks original is where its at :)
There used to be a place in England, Birmingham called Spriget and they had a heap of parts for both the Midget and the Sprite. My oil gauge was shagged so when I was mucking about in Pomgolia I made a visit to Birmingham and purchased a new one. I did have a book that showed all the parts that they had in shop I can say that the list was extensive.Quote:

Thanks for that, I can get a plate and a thrust OK, pressure plate I can get but just the dollars, Supercheap $780 for the set, Repco $480 but can't get? I will probably get one from Moss in the USA get a mate to send it to me from their, SC Parts in the UK hurt! But I think I might be OK thrust is not worn and I'm about to strip the rest now. Will work out anything else an buy direct from off shore! I picked up a rack and pinion RH drive from Argentina, they make them over there. :DQuote:

Hi @ONYVA 7-1/4" plate,good nick needs relining, the pressure plate looks like it needs a recon, Spring probs, pet # I have is GCC114, pet # on pressure plate is N 44635 and it has written in felt tip 725-013, could have been recond before? Thanks
I dont know if they will have access to old british stuff but I have found BNT are generally better at getting stuff than Supercheap or Repco and seem to have good prices
Yep I was just in the area so thought I look, I've got it to bits, the pressure plate will be the prob, I can get the clutch pl re lined. Complete kit fro Moss USA 180.00 U.S. Dollars plus freight, that's better! Will try BNT on Monday:cool:

Now have all the parts to put it back together! Busy week coming up! Then to get a warrant and back on the road, getting a warrant will be fun, last time a couple of yrs ago, guy Es adamant it couldn't be passed as it had fibreglass repairs to the back mudguards, he could see the glass mould from the inside and fibreglass in bodies is banned, the piddling petes, had to be working or removed! :cool:
