697?
I agree, AT's are ok on gravel roads and that's about it. In mud in my experience they just cake up and turn to slicks.
I'm about to go from ATs to a MT. I had MTs on my last wagon and only really needed them a small % of the time, but when ya need them ya need them eh.

I've got a winch, most (all) my 4wding is up gravel riverbeds where ATs seem to perform as well as MTs, and they'd be better for the other 95% of my driving which is on the road. Also if I don't like them I can sell them and buy some MTs again. I'm keen to give 'em a go. Had good performance from BFG ATs in Oz but gosh they're expensive.
If you can get by with an AT then they are way better than a mud tyre for daily driving, muds just wear so quickly. Like you say for gravel river beds and road driving, the AT is sweet.
Have a look at tyreshoponline.co.nz ,have brought a set of new muds recently cheap as chips and great service. Cheers
The tyre you speak of isn't what it once was ,had quite a number of reports on them being quite slippery on road.
probably doesn't help that most of the Utes these days have a ton of grunt!
Are you staying with the 15" or moving to 16"?
Sticking with 15s. Need new rims tho
Ok. I asked coz I have 4 new 16x8 black steel spokies at work that I will sell soon.
Ah yeah. I reckon I'll stick with 15s, don't see any advantage to 16s
