Aussie 4wd import

Hi there, has anyone got any experiance importing a 4WD from Aussie (something like a ex mine Nissan Patrol single cab flatdeck) Worth doing, pitfalls etc

Guy i went duckshooting with on the weekend had one of those.
non turbo 4.2. He was pretty happy with it. Think he got it for 13k?

Working where I do , they are still importing Ozzie right offs flat out Holdens by the handful , some are even turning up with new mis matched (colour) panels already fitted . ..right offs get photos stay with the vehicle vin number for its whole life here .

Seen hail damage through to brand a new on a transporter that hit a bridge ( took the lid off) repaired, and sold here, all that said please be careful, some are shown in the photo intact and are turning up , minus seats , dash boards even computers ...buyer beware .

Also add in MPI inspection , plus cleaning and a IVS costs ..

Check with compliance that it can be put on the road first, certain years can’t be put on the road at all! Due to emission standards and things like VSC. Do your homework first.
I’ve done a few, it can be a case of win some loose some...
And yeah I wouldn’t touch Ex-mining ones

Any ute or 4WD that has been worked underground in Australia will end up with major corrosion issues.

Fairly broad claim. Casual Beach use providing the trucks are washed down after returning does not cause corrosion on modern vehicles like it did in days past. Under body paint and coatings have improved significantly. I wouldn’t touch a truck that was living on the sand. Ex council and government department vehicles are what you want. 3-4 years old and low kms. Available at auction houses like Pickles.
