Is the tread plate the top of your tank or just a lift out cover over the tank?

it was an opening hatch with external hinges but they fucked me off so i took them off and glued the lid down
make sure you make an expansion chamber if fitting fuel tank or you will always have fuel coming out your breather
breather at the front is a good idea you only really need expansion chamber if plan on leaving tank full but even on hot days the expansion of the fuel can make the boat very fumey

Basicly a chamber in vent line above tank that can catch a glug of fuel and drain it straight back into the filler hose.

My tank is an absolute bloody bitch to fill right to the top. Unless boat is dead level. Otherwise it "belches" fuel everywhere.
Normally I get fed up so it only filled to 3/4 max.
How easy are they to empty ? . As in store up for 3 mths , and don't want fuel to go bad . Outboard mechanic told me is the number one reason two smokes do a piston " stale fuel" . My mates got under floor tank . Always belching out fuel and fumes . The gauge is unreliable . And they can't drain it . No disrespect to your engineering capabilities , but I would take it into consideration . As is a small boat tote tanks are user friendly .

Mine has been sitting for ages, gets fuel octane booster and ring free into the tank
Yea stale fuel is an issue I try to mitigate by taking enough for the trip and using it often so it is always getting topped up with fresh fuel.
Wont be hard to get out just unplug the hoses and lift it out.
Top of tank will be part of the deck.

Yeah personally unless you have range issues or space issues I'd be running tote tanks your drawing is spot on I wouldn't make you expansion chamber any smaller than 2 litres and make to return line to filler as close to your fill point as possible so you get a similar effect to filing a car
