CV boots are usually a straight forward job, but sometimes separating the CV joint from the trans can be a complete nightmare.

Usually it’s just a case of holding your tounge right, and with a pry bar and a yank they’ll release, but other times it’s a PITA.
If you have a slide hammer getting the right sized puller fork could come in handy if it’s hard to get out.

If you can get the stretchy ones that will fit your setup it can save ripping the entire axle out and down and that saves a heap of time... They go over the whole outer and slide straight into place. Don't last quite as long but the time saved!

The other option is glue-fit ones, they have a split that clips together with glue and then slide into place and clamp. They are also good for a speedy repair. I've actually repaired a couple of boots that had been holed by the clamp and were leaking grease, they are still fine with the hole patched with glue.
