    Importing from states

    Anyone done it? Insight into compliance costs etc? Looking at vehicle prices over here and considering it as an option

    Depending on what it is, if it’s old make sure you go look or have someone look at it
    They love tin and expanding foam for rust repairs

    lol you getting off task, ah the temptations...

    A couple of guys at work have brought vehicles over, one a yank tank but said getting it converted from left hand drive was expensive & wouldn't do it again.

    A quick Google says about US$3500 for freight etc (about NZ$5250), 15% GST on cost of vehicle and freight, and if it's under 20 years old it likely needs to be converted to right hand drive unless it's a collector's item or high performance car.
