That is exactly what I am trying to avoid Cambo!
Anyone got tips on a decent front bull bar? The current one is a platform for standing on by the looks.

Feed wirehunt his beverage of choice while you help him build it.:D
Start with snorkel, hi-lift jack and spade permanently mounted on it, nothing worse than getting stuck and your spade is back digging up the garden!
I reckon get a roof rack and a tray up top so can fit animals and gear up there. A false floor and some built in storage in the back can be useful as not a lot of room once you put couple packs, weeks food and Horse in there
I'm sure I can think of more!
Big rubber mat from supercheap in back and a tarp, much easyer to get 100+ big floppy kilos up 1 meter than over your head ;)
That's what I said as well at the start.
There's a really awesome engineer here in CHCH that does work that is more like artwork.

Get a taxidermist to permanently mount a boar on the front fender!
Add a decent compressor and recovery gear to the list of must have's.
Learn to drive the truck and have fun before doing any major mods.
If any mods were to be done straight away, I'd go first with barwork and bash plates, snorkel and tyres.
Join a local 4wd club and go on as many runs as you can. You will learn heaps, and will always have plenty of help if you get in the poo.
Sill bars mounted solidly to the chassis out of shed 40 give heaps of options for high lift jacking and body protection.
And if you stick em out to the line of the tires like this you can just turn into the bank on a tight turn on a track and just push the arse around as it slides the bank instead of a 600 point turn.

Nz winch .co.nz for Mcc winch bar Had one on my hi lux about to fit one to FJ. Good value winch bars
I can't see the pics :oh noes:
Chains, snorkel, bars with hi lift jack points, hi lift jack, tyres, lift, full service, fluffy dice, nylon winch cable.
Or sell me your front axle.
With good tyres and suspension even in standard trim it will do and go 99% of the places most sane people need to get to, but a snorkle is good insurance.Recovery gear you will collect overtime secondhand shops sometimes have a gem hidden out back I picked up a set of HD chains for the Safari for $5.00
