    Trailer recommendations

I’m after recommendations for a trailer company that does good quality trailers.

To sum it up, either after. 7x5 or 8x5 with a tail ramp, single axel, wooden deck with extra tie downs on the inside.
Mainly to cart around my quad, but also for generic domestic use.
Now I see there are plenty of tilt trailers that could moot the need for a tail ramp, but a tail ramp is easier for the wife to manage as well as her loading up the quad.

I can see the add ons like cage, jockey wheel and spare tyres are all pretty much the same across the range.

Scrolling through trade me, I see not all are created equal with a few of them assembled in NZ vs manufactured in NZ.
So apart from recommendations if anyone has any experience, good or bad with what’s out there.
    Cheers.
Grouchy Smurf had it right all along...

I had one built just like you are talking a good one is not cheap I've had mine for about 4 years and it's awesome.
Built by burkhart farm machinery in Taranaki. They make quilty stuff but mainly farm trailers, mine has a tilt and a cage which holds 3 cube of firewood.
I can take photos if you want to see what it's like.

Had my trayla trailer for 15 years now. Steel work is still good. Had a second deck(wood). Not manufactures fault though.

Maybe the best modular/bolt together trailer, but not overall.

I have a Kea 8x5 and based on my recent view of what is available around Auckland I would buy the same again.

A lot of the manufactures these days are making the draw bars too short (trying to save on steel??) which effects towing and makes them too responsive when reversing.
I use mine to tow my quad and only run two tie down straps - on dead centre in the front and one dead centre in the back. Rack it down and it never moves even after a 6hr tow down country.
The draw bar is long enough that I have made an angle iron frame which is bolted on top of the draw bar A frame and holds my 130L ice chest for meat recovery.
