im with ya GD.iwas told by an army driving instructor and even my late father if youre driving tricky terrain low ratio low gear and just keep the old bitch ticking over cause eventually shell find her way through the shit.same as going downhill ,dad was adamant let the engine do the braking. nothing makes me laugh more than jumped up spotty herberts in decked out tonka toys who get in the rough stuff ,go like hell and either end up bogged to their arsehole in mud or sitting folorn cause they broke sumfin and the tweeny blondegirlfriend is sitting there pissing herself laughing at the dork boyfriend or txting mates about what a useless munter he is!

In Nelson (F)rangers are everywhere and not one of their drivers can park, indicate, give way....infact if you see a ute being driven like a cock 95% chance it will be a (F)ranger.

Havent seen many if any Amaroks here?

Sounds like your typical company lease vehicle for a trades company management/supervisor guy.
There are only three types of people in this world. Those that can count, and those that can't!

The last of the Jap models are the best, I paid top dollar for a 2001 Hilux 4WD with 131,000 km's and it's mint and I will never sell it. This truck should see me out, the new Hilux drives like a car but crap off road

Havent "driven" the 2.8 other than around the yard.

No throttle reverse 11kph(manual) thats pretty fucken fast to back a 3.5 tonne trailer uphill round a corner.
6 speed first gear a little more reasonable at about 6kph idle.

Pretty keen backing a 3.5 tonne trailer uphill round a corner in a manual, unless your in low range, then it's easy

Unless you are on a hard surface and bind all the transmission up so the electronics cant get it back out of low 4,at least in the 106 days you could get low range 2wd.

Yep havent had any experience with Amarok drivers dowm here....must be an Auckland thing like 7mm08.

If you put "F" in front of "ranger" you get franger which also goes around a penis....this is an accurate description of EVERY Franger I have ever seen parked anywhere at any time and 90% of Frangers driving skills I have seen while on the road.

Hiluxes may not be what they used to be but at least their owners in general can park the bloody thing /stay in their lane/maintain a constant speed/pull over if holding up traffic.

Rangers are like arseholes up here, Every tryhard seems to have one for towing their jet ski, Amaroks are like the wank wagon ranger drivers on steriods, normally seen matt black with head light covers driven by fucktards with mini goatees and pointy shoes. If you see one down your way odds are some fuckwit couldn't find Queenstown.
