    Unhappy Lost my mate today

Sadly, had to watch my mate take his last today in my arms.
Hard to be the tough guy in front of my three little girls but he was put down after a very quick illness.

He was a very big dog for his breed, we would call him "Jake the mus". Some of the local kids would crap themselves calling him a red nose pitbull.
He could not stop vomiting on Saturday morning and after a few x-rays and an ultra sound it looked like there was a "mass" either on or in his liver/stomach. We chose not to operate as he was almost 10 (not that old but getting on) and the probability of sucess was not considered great. It seams he was covering up for some time and just could not keep up a brave face any longer. Makes me real sad as I gave him a bit of a hard time over the last few weeks.
I sure miss my boy, the wife even fed him this morning (followed by a bit of a boo hoo after it sunk in he wasn't going to be there).

That's rough mate. Sounds like he was a tough boy hiding it for that long.
