Thread: 1st-3rd Feb Waipakihi Hunt

Hi all,
My brother and brother-in-law have both pulled out from our long weekend hike/hunting trip into the waipakihi hut, so the trip has been postponed (for the 4th time grr!)
But i've been wanting to go to this place for the past 18 months so im still keen to go.
Unfortunatly i don't have the experience and confidence to 'go it alone' so is there anybody out there that want to join me and try our hands at a few Sika at such short notice?

Would love to but will be in the South Island that weekend.
The stream below the hut is where I buggered my knee and never been 100% right since.
It is a hard slog up the back of the hut which leads onto private land.
it was also February when we were there in 2004. Was a cold clagged in weekend.

It is my Bday the week after and i will be visiting the sika then.... am sneeking in to my super secret spot if i can get my hands on a boat!

Dam it.. you and sakokid both figured me out....... Maybe that is why i can never win at poker!

If this is a left off the start of the Desert Rd opposite Ruapahu ?
If this is the area I'm thinking ,no real need to go all the way to the hut.Plenty of good hunting around the camping area at road end.
Nice up the side creek & across the river.Not that deep just up-stream.But should be moving round the river flats now too & there plenty of that.
