EOI. Downies Hut, Quad bike trip

Picked up my new to me quad bike today,
I am quite keen to get it out and use the bugger so I was thinking of a multi day trip away with a side of hunting.
Is anyone local-ish interested in a long weekend (3-4 days) away with a trip up the Matakitaki Valley near Murchison to Downies Hut.
No set date as yet but I'd like to get away some time in the next month or so.
This has been discussed a while ago with a couple of Nelson forum members.

We've been up there a few times but always walking with heavy packs and have never actually made it to the hut , just tented for a couple of nights.
Whenever we have gone there has always been a fairly steady stream of hunters going through.
It's a popular spot . I guess because of quad access being allowed and also a nice easy track as far as we have walked . About an hour past pig flat is the furthest we have been on foot .
The packs started getting a bit heavy.....

Always thought the country round the Nardoo looked promising off the map.

Has kick start, It just doesn't like starting that way for some reason. I have a replacement starter, I just need to remove it from a parts bike and fit.

I would be keen on a quad bike camp but would need to be able to plan ahead a bit as I am in Auckland. Definitely out for the next couple of months as I had a second round of back surgery yesterday.

Wife informs me I am away this weekend (6th March). So have thrown the date of 13-14 March out at a few forum members. Take a Friday or Monday off for a longer trip away.
    Anyone else keen? @Pengy @Ftx325
