Are you talking about this one that COLFO are making people aware of?
Next Thursday 14 November COLFO will be in Wellington, joining voices with the “50 Shades of Green” pressure group to march on Parliament.
The purpose of the protest is to make the voices of rural communities heard. Across a number of fronts, with firearms law being just one, the Government appears to be targeting rural communities and lifestyles. So we are encouraging our members and supporters to join in on this march.
COLFO will be manning an information stall on the grounds of Parliament where signage, caps, public information brochures and flags will ensure firearms owners are visible in their solidarity with farmers and rural communities.
More information available on the '50 Shades of Green' website and on our Facebook event page.
The group will be meeting at 11am at Wellington's Civic Square. We plan to arrive on Parliament's grounds at about 1pm.
used to live in pet one but that was 45yrs ago,,so whats with parking in the windy city
Rural NZ has had a gutsful !!!
Please come to our March in Wellington, we need your support !!!
WHEN: 14 November, 2019
TIME: 11 AM – Civic Square. Expect to be at Parliament 1 PM. Welcome speeches at Civic Square, 65 Victoria St, Te Aro, Wellington (see map under the registration form).
OUR PURPOSE: To demonstrate and communicate that we will not be ridden over roughshod by a political agenda which shows no regard for genuine community wellbeing or genuine democratic consultation. The rural sector is being excluded from critical policy making decisions at the same time that anti farming lobbyists are being ushered in. We are calling the Government out. We deserve a level playing field and a fair go.
A FAIR GO. That’s all NZ Farming communities are asking for.
We are the men and women who grow your food. We work in the rain, sun, snow and wind to take care of this land, our animals and families.
We ask for a fair go on Emissions (Net ZCB) – We own land, which is home to hundreds of thousands, even millions of trees and yet our emissions reductions targets are unnecessarily high and ‘gross’ while other emitters have ‘net’ targets which will be met by planting what remains of our farms and communities in trees.
We ask for a fair go on Water Regulations. We are custodians of vast waterways, a role we have embraced over the last 20 years and into which huge investments have been made. We were not properly consulted on the Freshwater Reforms. None of our elected representatives were permitted at the table to provide a voice on our behalf. Meanwhile environmental lobby groups were ushered in to share in the spoils of an unfettered political agenda. We need local solutions to local problems, and we need to be heard.
We ask for a fair go on Land Use Changes (ETS): The Government never originally intended to return carbon credits to foresters for carbon sequestration, the forestry industry lobbied for over 6 years to achieve this outcome. This artificial market for sequestered units will drive escalating afforestation by international and domestic investors at an unprecedented scale should the ‘free market’ be given its head and allowed to bolt onto our hills. Our Communities are not carbon sinks, our people matter more than that.
We ask a fair go for Mental Health. The Farmers of New Zealand and their families are being painted as environmental vandals by their own Government. The persistent focus on farming being a ‘problem’ is perpetuating the groundswell of disgusting behaviour targeting farmers and even their children by extremist activists intent on furthering their own agendas. This campaign against rural businesses and their families can not be ignored or worse, given credibility by the Government, or rural families will ultimately pay the price.
PARKING: Parking in Wellington is limited, we sugggest parking at either Petone, Waikanae trainstations, trains run on the hour. Or fill a bus for the return journey. Example Masterton is $21 per person return for a full bus.
PROTEST GENERAL RULES: We are there to elevate our voices and present our concerns. Please remember we are representing more than ourselves, we request respectful behaviour at all times.
AFTER MARCH: TBC there will be food and beverages
SIGNAGE: Be creative with your signs, here’s some tips for effective sign creation:
Have a clear message
Use humour and wit
Keep it simple
Remember that presentation matters
Be passionate
No personal attacks
Play the game, not the man, nothing personal. We reserve the right to ban offensive signs.

Planting a few pine trees on Parliament lawns - will maybe offset some of the hot air from within the buildings :P

Several MPs came out to talk
I would sum up the reception as follows:
National (? Todd Muller) - lukewarm
Labour (Damien O'Connor) - got heckled and laughed at
NZ First (Shane Jones) - pompous prick, I am surprised nobody set their dog on him...
The usual collection of wobbly head-nodders in the background - even old crusher Collins made an appearance.
Bullshitting pompous prick.but we knew that
Just had a preview of his comment to media.
Yea ,pretty"funny"?
Thrust have forgotten they supported the ets last week
they were reminded several times :P
and then Jones spoke and gloated over how even National supported it...
You at the bbq?ebf
March Report.
523km, one double quarterpounder and fries ’n’ Coke, one chipped windscreen (thank you for nothing hippie Kombi speeding through the roadworks near Turakina) and another donation to the Parking Vampires in Wellington later:
- A friendly, well-presented march of mostly country-origin farming folk, all ages, two genders, plus kids and dogs. No purple-haired Trigglypuffs present at all. Winning combo.
- Dunno how many numbers, but looked impressive from my poz at the back.
- The sign ebf copied in his post was not representative. Most signs were green, polite, good-humoured and accurate.
- Saw only 5-6 other firearm-related signs but I may have missed some. I went with “Lost my gun in a voting accident” - inspiration provided by others.
- March lead by a tractor, Tail End Charlie was a ?sheep truck.
- Great 1-page handout to passers-by which was accurate, friendly, firm, and right on target. Asking for a Fair Go. Worth reading if you can find it: I did not know half of the ways the Govt is screwing farmers and their families. Bastard-coated bastards with a bastard filling and bastard sprinkles.
- Donations went to the Life Flight trust, so I did, rather than to COLFO, just for today. Farmers are likely to need Life Flight more than average.
- Did not see any COLFO table set up at Parliament (not a complaint, just an observation). Pity, I wanted to say thank you in person for representing us well.
- Left to head home as the blowhard blustering utu-threatening neph-’n’crim-cuddling Shane ‘Jackoff’ Jones got started on his speech. Did not want to catch any of his corrupt verbal diarrhea. Plus, I might have wanted to heckle the fat sawn-off little Jeckle, and crew-cut minders with ear-pieces were scattered hither and yon, especially yon near the microphones.
- Spoke to a coupla bemused-but-friendly cityslickers. They were woefully ignorant of the issues farmers and LFAOs face.
- There was one looney-tunes pro-Greta sign-holder on the Parliamentary green space. I engaged not with him; no point ever in arguing with an idiot: he’ll drag you down to his level and beat you with his experience there.
It was worthwhile to go, regardless.
But still, fuck that Kombi.
As a farmer and a LFAO, I appreciate your support
I wanted to be there as well, but had meetings today that I couldn't change.
Shane Jones is doing a great job. In the past couple of weeks he has single handadly upset rural voters and pissed off a lot of immigrants many who have a vote. Come the revolution err I mean the election he will be gone hopefully.
he came across as the complete cock sock.fat lil no neck wannabe hipster .when will Adern grow a spine line him up and say enoughs enough winston hes on the one way bus to the works.
hes the complete vertical arsehole with a history of dribbling over porn in house on the tax payer credit card in a previous political term ,is a grandiose as fuck and absolutely repulsive as a male of the species.
the blue clad el segundoes cant protect him every where -one day someone will have a gutsful and sit him right on his podgy arse.
James shaw (greens leader) said it all being verbally diplomatic to thecameras whilst the look on his face clearly says "WTF do we do to be associated this rthis arsehole! "
ive no time for green politics but i must admit i feel sorry for shaw .
Dummien oconnor -no time relentlessly trots out comrades manifest ,very poor job of representing westcoast electorate interests totally ineffectual .
the sooner hes out of it the sooner a more vibrant coaster can get in there! now -to those on here who preach the mantra we must engage in earnset conversation with the COl or such parallel sentiment ,me thinks today clearly shows the futility of your aspirations, these cock socks luv the powertrip the ego massaging and pushing their own wee tiny intellectual wheelbarrows.election time is the on;ly viable option!
