Pride of the Island North versus South

Just an Idea guys an girls for a steel gong shoot for the north half of the Island versus the Southern half of the North Island .
A weekend where we meet in the middle of the island -Oakune for example and go toe to toe in a long range event .
Run as a competition with rules and regs to keep it safe and orderly .

Could be the start of a good shooting event .Who would like to do this

Not everyone is excited by the thought of competitive shooting.
"Hunting and fishing" fucking over licenced firearms owners since ages ago.

308Win One chambering to rule them all.

Dont be so negative guys ,we have a great time at these events.Being competitive pushes you to be the best you can be and that's a good thing. The other side of it all also is those that haven't competed learn and grow in their sport of choice and become better shooters .Please positive answers and Baldbob get some rest LOL

I would be keen but not set up for long range shooting, would have been keen as mustard if it was one of those ones where deer/animal targets are placed in the bushes and you have to find and shoot them on a time limit would be cheaper on the ammo too.
RULE 4: IDENTIFY YOUR TARGET BEYOND ALL DOUBT

To be a Human is to be an Alien, ask the animals, We invade this world and we are killing it, we are destroying the earth and nobody gives a fuck except for the animals

This isnt too bad an idea.
You could have a set format and ranges. And it can be conducted like a postal shoot thoughout the country by anyone willing to participate. Would save on travel and admin.

I could do that. Maximum range is likely to sort out the ones who can afford big flat shooting calibers from those willing to just give it a try. I personally dont have a suitable rifle past 1000m and still supersonic. Cant afford the ammo for a 338, let alone the price of the rifle.

Noooo R93 we have to turn up and shoot it .A postal match is a bit weird to me - a shoot without a shoot -kinda like having a rubber doll for a girl friend

Well, you will get fuck all wanting ro travel anywhere without any incentive.
A shoot of the same format shot in different regions will generate interest and maybe motivate some to eventually travel.
It worked in the Army for yrs, choosing the top 50 for the queens medal.
Works with skeet between Oz and Nz as well.
    Was just a suggestion.
