I did not mean to imply that I had hunted moose but I did come extremely close to colliding with one in a truck a couple of decades back so am very acquainted with the size of the buggers. As to advice, I will forearm you. If you find yourself between a grizzly and her cubs, immediately bend over and kiss your arse goodbye. If you find yourself between a mountain lion and her kits do similarly. Same with a wolverine and her young etcetera ad infinitum for all dangerous animals. Standing behind someone else and pushing them forward may also work to your advantage in such circumstances. Ha ha ha ha. Have a great trip mate.
Also if in that situation and there 2 of you 22lr is very affective and can save your life. Shoot your mate in the Knee and run like fuk
And don't forget your pepper spray. Which leads into this old joke.
The Ohio State Department of Fish and Game is advising hikers, hunters, fishermen and golfers to take extra precautions and keep alert for bears while hiking.
They advise people to wear noise producing devices such as little bells on their clothing to alert but not startle the bear unexpectedly. They also advise carrying pepper spray in case of an encounter with a bear.
It is also a good idea to watch for fresh signs of bear activity and know the difference between black bear and grizzly bear droppings.
Black bear droppings are smaller and contain berries and possibly squirrel fur.
Grizzly bear droppings have little bells in them and smell like pepper spray

Hopefully.
A bear probably won't like the smells I'll be emitting if it gets close enough to work out I'm too skinny to eat either.
And @blip, Kate informs me she has a Little Badger single shot 22 she's taking. Should I be worried?
She's faster than me so probably won't need it anyway.
A week out I need to do some planning. What do you want us to bring tucker wise for Saturday evening? @Maca49 should we RV at the same place as last time on Friday morning and if so what time?
I'm now out, there's a memorial service on Friday for a very good friend that I will be attending instead.
