As title, I'm looking at a new folding knife, had a couple or Kershaws [untill lost]and they were good, and I have had a Schrade hunting knife for years that untill I bought a svord, was my mainstay and still is a very good knife.
I don't want the latest taticool piece, just a reliable folder, currently looking at Schrade or another Kershaw.
Any opinions on these two as compared.

I have a Buck folding knife it has a 9cm blade it stays nice and sharp. I think they are around $60 im not sure now.

Yeah, Liking the Kershaws at the moment too. The Kershaw Junkyard Dog II is my go to folder. And a Kershaw Skyline when i don't want to scare the natives :) Can get them super sharp. Well built knives.

I also have a Buck Folder that keeps a fairly good edge and is a lot tighter in the action than my equivalent Gerber.
I have been using a SOGzilla for around 6 months around the farm , fishing and hunting and I really rate the steel and the shape of the blade,cost around $70 used it last night to skin a red hind and bone out the quarters , acouple of swipes on the steel and its shaving again.
Please excuse the hijack but didn't want to start a new thread for one question but can anyone tell me if these knives (Gerber Applegate) are legal to own in New Zealand?

Last time I heard of knives being illegal it was for:
- Double edge knife blade
- Push button that uses a spring to push the blade "straight out" from the handle, springs that assist to unfold the knife were fine.
