Got a bit carried away and tried to shove a too-big patch into my rifle, then pulled too hard to get it out :O_O:
Handle popped off my Hoppes cleaning rod. Seems to be something missing but I can’t find any little bits in the workshop and don’t know what I should be looking for…

may be araldite is now a friend
I'm guessing the alloy part was swaged at the end to loosely hold in the rebate of the rod shaft

You've just pulled hard enough to strip the swage out to straight
Just my guess
It would have had a nylon bush to act like a bearing allowing the rod to spin in the handle, possibly its pushed up inside the handle, likely wherever it is it's cracked or otherwise broken.
