Base layer/long johns what to get

I often hunt in macpac marino leggings under shorts but they are all looking like fishnet stockings with all the holes and shit.

At $60 odd bucks a pop I'm after a more durable solution. I cant stand the smell polyprop gets either so not keen on something that will stink after one decent walk.

What are others using? Not wanting to pay more than $60-$70

I got some merino long johns from the warehouse, seem to be holding up ok. Your other option is a pair of light trousers. My friend uses the underarmour base 2.0 leggings. They are holding up well but will be dearer, might work out cheaper in the long run though.

I have used both the macpac and the base leggings, the base is by far better, only issue is that if you somehow rip them when fairly new its a bit of a sore point due to the cost.

The Kuiu peleton synthetics are awesome. Anti microbial works well, they are way less stinky than polyprop. More durable and come in both solids or trendy camos. $$ but

Stick to Merino @Gibo. Those underarmour 2.0 are good but not as light or warm.

Merino is easy to repair with a sewing kit out bush too!
