    Base layers

Anyone used these? Specifically the leggings. Shame they're not a solid green. I'm sick of tearing up merinos. Have tried "skins" compression tights before (I had em for running) but they will kill you if you wear them in the mountains, make you cold like nothing else. Do these do the same?

Doesn't look to be much room in the front if you know what I mean.

Gonna follow this, reckon they might make you sweat in the hard stuff, then freeze you till they dry.

The ones I have are great for wicking sweat, but offer no heat retention at all. Just a lot tougher than merino/polypro and a nice snug fit so they don't catch in the scrub. Be good to get something similar that offers some warmth

I'd have thought they'd either be Thermals, OR Compression tights, not both in one garment.
I've got Stoney Creek Powder Dry leggings (discontinued) for normal use, and swap to UnderArmor Base 1.0 or 2.0 for warmth, tho am wary of overheating.....a little tougher than Merino in the nasty stuff.

I wish thermal tops had another 2 or 3 inches length on the torso, Im 6'3 and dont feel unaveragely tall but when I lift my arms the things ride up.

compared skins, under armour and merino this summer in the kawekas, in terms of getting cold the fastest, it went merino, skins and under armour (no1) - and that was just a plain ol tshirt wasn't the compression muscle shirt stuff

We use Under Armour Base 1 top and leggings and have now for the last 2 years still going strong you don't over heat and still good in the cold but NI hunting.

BTW, those compression leggings they aren't thermal so wont keep you warm while sitting, you need to wear pants overtop or change to woolen ones and ditto if you are wet and cold don't expect them to keep you warm. they aren't really designed to insulate. I have the 2xu ones which have a draw string waist band. there are thermal ones with fleece inner too. they also don't hole up like merinos and don't go all saggy after a day on the hill

huntech.. they look a bit cheap eh. but I guess some goons will buy them being a hunting brand and all - with no independent research to back up what they quote on the website either

Underarmour is warm and breathes well not sure about the durability of it as I wear things over top of them

I'm thinking about getting a pair of these and wearing merino under them. Should protect the merino and not be hot themselves...
