Hi all, I've got a mate who's looking at getting some new binos, hunting in south island. I'm happy with my old Steiner 8x35s, so not much help to him as far as suggestions go, what do others recommend?

take a look at the Nikon range they do a 10x with rubber coating water proof shock proof and compact for way under $1000 and great glass
Leupold alpine hd, 10x42 they are compact and really light get them ona deal and you will be set.
Bushnell 10x the same as ol mate Tasman uses. Bloody awesome. I've thrashed my pair and they come back for more.
Can't beat those for $649
