Best tent pegs?
I’ve lost or bent most of the tent pegs for my lightweight tent (or at least my mates have). I’ve got heaps of the bog-standard galv rod ones, but these are heavy and bend easily. What are your recommendations for the best combo of weight & strength?

I have some of these holding a tarp over my firewood. Held tight through the storms last weekend no worries.

I carry a couple of each. Cf nail pegs, light as and heaps of purchase but can snap if you stand on em. Couple of ti shepards hooks and a couple of msr groundhog style pegs

I use the same as @post has linked above, cheap and light, I haven't put any noticeable bends in any yet.
Buy 20 and have spares incse you lose some or damage them. They seem was stronger than wire type ones
Otherwise use small branches/large twigs if available.

I carry 8 of the alloy ones and cut the rest from branches when I get to camp spot

we bent up/straightened a heap of stainless steel gambles years ago..you can whack them suckers in through rocks and they wont bend.... one of them at each corner and on main guy rope and even the worst wind isnt an issue..... one good bend proof peg can save your bacon...bang it in,pull out and put lesser peg in pre formed hole.
the tines off hay rake are sping steel and have bend formed on one end..cut a couple of those to length and you wont have issues in stony ground either.

An expensive option but. In South Africa during the boer war bayonets saw the most action as tent pegs

For lighter carry weight I go for the plastic ones but I camp amongst the trees and don't get much wind

Thanks guys. I liked the look of the ones you linked to @2post, so it’s good to know where to get them from.

MSR make some very light but ridiculously expensive tent pegs. I went down the Aliexpress road and brought a few different types that are reasonable quality but cheap

i used straight ti ones from ali and they have been good. just have a groove for the guy ropes to sit in.

Just use sticks if camping in the bush. disposable too

The ones that came with my Macpac minaret are pretty tough looking. About 150 long and hollow alloy shaft with spiky end and a good solid top for whacking in. Nice straight design makes for easy insertion.

Best ones are @Philipo ones
