    Bushbuck polar x down jacket

Anyone own one of these? Old man getting one and get them cheaper buying two, Have some mates that rate them but keen to see if any you fellas have one, i know they are heavy would just be used around camp and occasionally on the farm. I have a light macpac for carrying in my pack. I like the canvas outer looks like should last. Is the outer material on the wear on earth ones as durable as these? Cheers.

I grabbed a Bushbuck jacket on special last year. The canvas type shell is tough as , and comes in a hell of lot cheaper than Wear on Earth and Cactus.
    Toasty too

    Considered a wear on earth?

$365 for NZ custom made. Leagues ahead in quality. He supplies tough canvas material too

I've got one I bought for on the farm in winter. For the money when they're on special they are hard to beat, I was too tight to buy a NZ made one for farm work, in and out of the tractor on cold days etc, I have expensive Swazi jackets for wet weather. Haven't had any issues with it in two years. Heavy and warm. Water resistant, certainly not waterproof. Hardly use it hunting, too heavy and bulky to carry unless you drive or fly in.

Thanks for the info guys. I might ring Blair and see what he can do before buying a bushbuck. Looks like the bushbuck has a longer tail on back which i quite like also, assuming Blair could add that on also maybe..

Id think so , my hooded vest was $240 it’s not canvas like a cactus jacket but still hard wearing and tough Blair said. There’s plenty of options

The other option worth considering is Peak IV from dwights outdoors. Great bits of kit - waterproof puffer jacket, crazy warm and very robust, also pretty cheap. Mine has kept me nice and cosy down to - 20

I have a cat (as in yellow logo of big boys toys) insulated jacket, really bulky but for less than $150 it makes an awesome work jacket to get dirty. Stitching is a bit average on the pockets after a few months hard use.

+1 for wear on earth if you are going to look after it, I got a vest and then a full jacket off Blair
