I keep my bag loose in a pillow case when not in use - I’m aware some manufacturers have struggled to communicate to owners not to store a bag in its compressed state hence not putting one with the bag

Yup all over that, hang my full length in the wardrobe, when not in use.
Same with my down jacket, I don't store that compressed either.
