I think it will be a totally different experience flying remotely.
Flying a real machine is done by using your hands and feet plus all your available senses especially your ass.

I will be a learning experience for sure but I see it being a very useful tool for a lot of things.

How much other kit do you need for a drone? Haven't been up with the play. (probably wrong) but early ones would only run on Apple or Android....

Would be a nice toy though

    Well, sorta..
The collision-avoidance feature in them doesn't work if you're flying backwards, so my son tells me

@R93 Currently learning on one of these:https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Syma...634742522.html

Cheap and fun. You can buy all the parts cheap. Destruction manual is in chinglish so pretty crap but no problem.
@Beaker is lucky it's range is restricted to 8 min flying cant quite reach his house.

Forget drones for pig hunting. This looks more useful:

As GWH says, just buy a Mavic and a spare battery, job done.

No. The Mavic has better range and flight time than the Phantom 3. It is also more compact and folds for transport. The Phantom 3 has been replaced by the Phantom 4.

    Thanks for that
So the Phantom 4 is an upgrade of the 3 - but is still not a Mavic or as good as a Mavic ??

The on board camera is potentially better than the mavics, but only professionals would notice. The only really advantage of the Mavic over the Phantom 4 is its size and portability of drone and remote.

Whats the prices of the Phantom 4 & Mavic Pro here in NZ - or better to get via EBay?
