See what Tasman uses??? I used the same and rate them very highly.bushnels at half the price you mention.
Anyone used the Leupold BX-2 Alpine HD 10x42 that are on at $550 at H&F? Would they be a good entry level option?
Vortex monocular. 8*36 solo. Great value.
I picked up a set of Vortex Diamondback 10x42 a few months back. Heaps better than the Bushnell Trophy ones I had, but managed to break, which were the same specs. About $500 at H&F
I would have preferred 8x42 but they weren't available at the time.
The Vortex Diamondback also have lifetime warranty. I’m not sure if that’s the case with other options in that $400-500 range. Their service is good too. I had an issue with mine a few years back and they replaced with a brand new pair. I’ve never owned high end binos, but I’ve been very happy with the Diamondback. I used to have some cheaper Bushnells but bought the Diamondback after trying my brothers binos while out on a hunt together and he could pick up animals a good 30-40mins longer than me at last light.

Seriously good for the money. Crisper than the leupold pro guides IMO
You can't beat these for the price $649
