    Faulty Uniden UH064SX-2A

    hi all,

i've got a faulty Uniden UH064SX-2A, with fully charged batteries installed when i turn it on the low battery symbol flashes and thats about where the fun ends. I've had a look through google but not knowing much about hand held radios i would really know where to start.

Are there any electronic guru's out there that could point me in the right direction to get this fixed.

    cheers

thats what i thought for a start off so used one from another hand held that i knew was good, it had the same indications when put in the faulty radio.

Yep, battery is gone. The NICAD's go eventually.
There is a company in ChCh selling replacements for $38 but you can simply put in AAA non rechargeables.

Mine does the same thing. Runs fine on AAA Eveready Max.

well sent an email to the service division of uniden NZ, they said they could fix it for $92. Not sure why anyone would get one fixed as i can purchase a brand new one for $99. looks like a good excuse to go get a couple of new radios to me.
