Garmin etrex 20. Yay or nay.

Want to get a gps next for a bit of reassurance and to mark spots when I start to go hunting by myself. I have a limited budget due to being a student of 300 odd dollars.

The reviews seem quite good on these and I've found one off eBay for 200 bucks. Has any one used one or an equivalent to these?

    Cheers.

You can get an Oregon series GPS for $US220. Even with shipping it would be under $300NZ.

If you're in Auckland, you can have a play with mine. I'll walk you through the features etc.

Etrex 20 is a pain in the arse if you are carrying it in your pocket. The toggle switch gets moved too easily and you end up with unwanted way-points,navigating to an unwanted/unknown point and so on. Just my experience. Now tend to use my smart phone with New Zealand Maps version 4.5.3,works well and easier to read.

Thanks. I have just ordered the 600 for 320 bucks. I was planning on using my phone but it seems better to have a dedicate unit with the phone as back up.
